The list of the top 11 home and lifestyle property sales in this country for 2021 is ready.
Kelvin Davidson, Senior Real Estate Economist for CoreLogic, identified the most expensive sales of the year for the Herald.
Eight of the top 11 were in Auckland and the rest were in the Queenstown area, with total deals valued at more than $ 140 million.
“They’re pretty much the usual suspects of top sales: mansions in Herne Bay and Remuera and a few larger blocks around Queenstown,” Davidson said, supplying the list of addresses, prices, property types, areas and contract date.
1. $ 22M: Argyle St, Herne Bay, single family home, sale agreed June 28th
Sold by developer Kurt Gibbons and wife Makere to the trustee of financier Tony Radisich. Davidson said the sale set this year’s record. The Gibbons bought a nearby Marine Pd home for $ 23.5 million, but Davidson said that hit in 2020 and is therefore not on the 2021 list. The name of the Executive Trustee is on the new title. Company records indicate it is owned by Radisich of Broadlands Finance. Sold by Ollie and Graham Wall.
2. $ 19.75 million: Victoria Ave, Remuera, large colonial house, sale agreed in early December.
Culum and Kirstin Manson sold this place, which was once the seat of the Bolivian Honorary Consulate and which they had extensively renovated. Agent Michael Boulgaris closed the deal and recovered from his near death in a horse accident in August.
3. $ 18.2M: Mooney Rd, Speargrass Flat outside Arrowtown, 9.1 hectares lifestyle property, sale agreed Aug. 21
Property records indicate that Eric and Suzanne Faesenkloet sold this Queenstown Lakes District property to Matagouri in 2021, which is owned by an auditor’s R & H Trust Co in Whanganui. Speargrass Flat has many multimillionaires. “Tucked away on 22 acres of well-established grounds with natural ponds and a tennis court, this is arguably one of the most sought-after rural addresses in the Wakatipu Basin,” says a website about the location. Faesenkloet is Chairman of the Golf Warehouse Retail Business.
4. $ 16.1 million: Forestline Rise, Ben Lomond between Queenstown and Glenorchy, apartment, agreed to sell on May 25th
Property records show Wilson NZ Property Pty on title. Companies This is not registered in the commercial register.
5. $ 15.6 million: Victoria Ave, Remuera, single family home, sale agreed June 10th
Records show that this is owned by Zhuohe Zhou. A social media page for Remuera Luxury Real Estate says this property has five bedrooms, five bathrooms and is a 663 square foot home on 2580 square feet of land.
6. $ 14.5M: Wilding Rd, Lake Hayes, Queenstown area, 3.03 acre lifestyle block, sale agreed Aug. 12
This sprawling lifestyle property features a sprawling, modernist home built in 2005 with five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and four parking spaces, as property records indicate.
7. US $ 13.2 million: Minnehaha Ave, Takapuna, single family home, agreed to sell on August 16
The 612-square-foot home was designed by architect Ron Dijkmans more than 20 years ago and would not look out of place among the grand Cape Cod estates in the United States this year, according to OneRoof’s advertisement. In addition to the five bedrooms, it has seven bathrooms, a library, an indoor swimming pool and a playroom with wraparound terraces and a garage for four cars
8. USD 12.5 million: Karori Cres, OrÄkei, single-family home, sale agreed on April 13th
The large house has “breathtaking views” over the Hauraki Gulf Islands. Generous use of wood, open living and a large sunken pool round off the luxury.
9. $ 12M: Hamilton Rd, Herne Bay, single family home, sale agreed Oct. 5
That sale was part of the deal, which also included the most expensive sale of the year at 73 Argyle St. Kurt and Makere Gibbons closed the sale of this place the same day they bought the house on Argyle St. and then properly put that house up for sale again.
10. $ 11.02 million: Victoria Ave, Remuera, single family home, sale agreed May 28
