Skanska is expanding the Stockholm Metro in Nacka, Sweden, for around SEK 1.2 billion



ÖSTERSUND, Sweden, November 16, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Skanska has signed a contract with the Stockholm Regional Council to build a new stage Stockholm Subway in Nacka, Sweden. The contract has a value of approx. 1.2 billion SEK which will be included in Nordic orders for the fourth quarter of 2021.

The project includes the construction of a new underground tunnel of approx. 1,200 meters including platform areas and two ticket halls for the Nacka train station. This is part of the expansion of the new metro’s Blue Line, where Nacka is the last stop on the eastern extension. The works mainly include rock tunnels and shafts, rock above ground, earthworks in the tunnels, concrete work, temporary installations and temporary traffic diversions.

The project focuses on minimizing the climate impact and is carried out according to the CEEQUAL environmental certification system. The goal for the customer is the level very good. The work of CEEQUAL is integrated into design and production.

The start of construction is planned for the first quarter of 2022, the completion of the project should take place in the first quarter of 2026.
