Residential property price index for June – August 2022


MACAU, Oct 7 – Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicates that the headline home price index for June-August 2022 fell 1.4% to 254.8 from the previous period (May-July 2022). . Indexes for the Macao Peninsula (255.1) and Taipa & Coloane (253.9) fell 1.6% and 0.2%, respectively.

The housing stock index (272.5) fell by 1.3%; the index for those in Macao Peninsula (265.0) fell 1.6%, while the index for those in Taipa & Coloane (302.7) rose 0.1%. Analyzed by building age, the index for dwelling units in buildings over 20 years old decreased by 2.7%, while the index for buildings between 6 and 10 years old increased by 2.4%. Meanwhile, the pre-sold housing index (296.3) fell 3.2%.

The indices for residential units with a floor space of less than 50 square meters and for those with a floor space between 50 and 74.9 square meters fell by 2.5% and meters and more rose by 1.5%. Among high-rise and low-rise buildings, the indices for dwelling units of buildings up to seven floors and those over seven floors decreased by 2.7% and 1.1%, respectively.
