Middletown police: man dead after stabbing


MIDDLETOWN – A man who was attacked with a knife early Sunday morning has died, according to police.

Captain Gary Wallace said police responded at 1:53 a.m. to the Washington Street area near Pearl Street where an unidentified man was reportedly stabbed with a knife

Wallace said the emergency services had found an addressable man who needed medical attention, adding that ambulance services arrived at the scene shortly after and transported the man to Middlesex Hospital.

On Sunday evening, Lt. Heather Desmond of Middletown Police Department said the man died from his injuries.

“We will publish the victim’s name in the near future,” Desmond said. “We would also like to express our condolences to the family and friends of the victim during the difficult time.”

Desmond said Middletown police are investigating any leads in the investigation. She said police are looking in public for more information about the incident, including footage from surveillance cameras in the area.
