Brookfield Properties and Park Tower Group announce the commencement of leasing at the Eagle + West waterfront luxury condominium towers in Brooklyn

Brookfield Properties, in partnership with Park Tower Group, announced today the leasing commencement of Eagle + West, a 745-unit luxury condominium complex designed by renowned architects OMA. With Beyer Blinder Belle Architects collaborating as executive architect along with the design of the residential units and interior design of the facilities by Marmol Radziner, Eagle + West is the newest group of residential towers to be built along the East River waterfront in North Brooklyn within the masterful planned Greenpoint to be opened development landing.

“Greenpoint Landing has emerged as one of the most desirable places to live in the city, so we’re excited to begin leasing at Eagle + West and offer tenants another inspiring, modern and luxury option to choose from in the neighborhood. ” said Maria Masi, senior vice president, Brookfield Properties Development. “With uninterrupted views of the Manhattan skyline, light-filled and elegantly designed interiors, first-class amenities and unparalleled access to waterfront parks, cafes, restaurants and more, Eagle + West represents the ultimate waterfront living experience.”

“The development of Greenpoint Landing was remarkable to watch. We are delighted that this architecturally significant property is now open and offering tenants a comprehensive living experience,” he said Marian Klein, President of Park Tower Group.

The Eagle + West features two luxurious 40-story and 30-story towers that occupy a prominent location on the East River overlooking all of Manhattan. The project includes a total of 745 apartments, 224 of which are designated as affordable.

The two cantilever towers, defined by the space between them, were carefully crafted by OMA partner Jason Long to maximize Manhattan views and create a sense of privacy. The North Tower retreats from its base, making room for expansive outdoor terraces, while the South Tower expands and offers 360-degree views. The building’s facades, which resemble the clapboard facades of Greenpoint’s townhouses, are carved through a series of angled planes that alternate in orientation – a dynamic feature that responds to the movement of the sun – and incorporate gridded concrete panel inserts with square, 2, 4 x 8ft windows allowing each unit an abundance of natural light.

“Eagle+West reflects a shared ambition – with Brookfield, Park Tower Group and the engineering and design teams – to create a living platform that combines past and future, inside and outside, urban street life and water. It has been an amazing journey to see our first New York towers take shape on the Brooklyn waterfront and we look forward to bringing them to life,” he said Jason Long, Partner, OMA.

“The living units have been designed to maximize the stunning views using materials that evoke warmth and elegance while providing a relaxing environment to come home to. Every detail has been carefully crafted to take the senses to another level of beauty,” he said Carlos Cardoso, AIA, Partner, Beyer Blinder Belle.

Eagle + West features 42,000 square feet of carefully curated indoor and outdoor facilities designed for rest and relaxation, including a state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated bike studio, and serene yoga room; an expansive central patio with expansive water views, with reserveable grills and a bocce ball court flanked by lounge areas; An indoor pool; a resort-style outdoor pool; a coworking center with conference rooms; a crash pad room with big screen TV, sound system and projector; a workshop for creative hobbies; Playroom; Nursery; and a test kitchen. In addition, residents have direct access to Greenpoint Landing Riverside Park, designed by James Corner Field Operations, and are just steps from the GU train and the Greenpoint Ferry Terminal.

As an interior and landscape architect, Marmol Radziner’s goal for the design of the Eagle + West project was to complement the exterior architecture and its surroundings with thoughtful spaces for its occupants. The design reflects the architecture and natural surroundings, and ties in with the building’s angles and views across the East River to Manhattan. The interior and exterior surfaces have a strong focus on tactile movement, with a color palette reminiscent of the coast. Minimalist interiors have muted tones and textured materials that feel both sophisticated and honest. A cohesive sense of warmth and comfort has been achieved through the use of colour, wood design elements, textured concrete and carefully chosen furnishings that reflect the sophisticated attention to detail of the common areas.

“We are excited to be a part of this wonderful project and to bring our vision to life in every amenity Eagle + West has to offer. We have designed spaces that are warm and welcoming, with a focus on the residents and their needs. Large, open lobbies and lounge areas create visual connections from the interior to the exterior and to the Greenpoint Landing waterfront. Furnishings are simple and sophisticated, punctuated with limitless pieces, resulting in exciting and dynamic spaces that enhance the architecture of the buildings. We look forward to seeing this community grow and thrive,” he said Ron Radziner, FAIA, Design Partners, Marmol Radziner.

Park Tower Group is developing the master plan for Greenpoint Landing, which when complete will include approximately 5,500 homes (both market-priced and perpetually affordable units), an expansive waterfront park designed by James Corner Field Operations, and numerous local retail opportunities. The final tranche of the four-acre public park and promenade will open later this summer. Eagle + West is the fourth residential project that Brookfield Properties and Park Tower Group have jointly developed within the larger, 22-acre master development planned by Greenpoint Landing. The companies opened the One Blue Slip location in 2018, Two Blue Slip in 2020 and The Bellslip last May.
